Marion C. Redder, 93, of Dell Rapids passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 2:30 p.m. and the Christian Wake service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Kahler Funeral Home. Marion Aumer was born on May 9, 1920 at Dundee, MN, the daughter of Frank and Eliza Aumer. She grew up in Dundee and attended school in Fulda, MN, graduating in 1937. She worked as a beauty operator for a short time and then worked in Dundee, Windom, Redwood Falls, and Luverne as a telephone operator.
She was married to Herman Redder on July 8, 1947 in Dundee, MN. They made their home on a farm at Beaver Creek, MN. In 1962 they moved to their farm north of Dell Rapids. Herman died on April 25, 1995. Marion remained on the farm until the spring of 2000 when she moved into Orchard Hills. In February of 2012 she became of resident of the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, altar society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Dell Rapids Garden Club and the Dell Rapids Quilters Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul, her sister, Elsie Aumer, her son, John and her grandson, Robert.
She is survived by her six sons, Joseph of Dell Rapids, Stephen (Patti) of Frisco, TX, Jeffrey (Teresa) of Mt. Holly, NJ, James (Deb) of Flandreau, Thomas (Joanne) of Trent and David (Loretta) of Watertown and her five daughters, Elizabeth (Ronald) Krupicka of Niobrara, NE, Rosemary (Thomas) Gangel of Wichita, KS, Joan (James) Redder-Lacey of Dell Rapids, Maria (Michael) Nichols of Ft. Valley, GA and Christina (Joe) Wilke of Dell Rapids; her 24 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Veronica Wiggins of Paullina, IA.
