Leo Heinricy

Leo HeinricyLeo John Heinricy, 69, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Avera Dells Area Hospital. He was born December 10, 1943 at Madison, SD to Leo and Gladys (Thiele) Heinricy. He attended Colman Public School and graduated in 1961. Leo was with the South Dakota National Guard 147th Field Artillery, Flandreau. He started working at T&R Electric in Colman on October 7, 1967 where he was the foreman of the yard and the loading area. Leo was married to Shirleen Muth on December 11, 1971 at Madison, SD. He retired from T&R in 2010. In June of 2013, Leo and Shirleen moved to Dell Rapids. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids and formerly of Colman Lutheran Church. Leo enjoyed his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and farming with his cousins, Jim and Bob. He also enjoyed playing pinochle, cards, sports, the “Colts”, going to coffee and making jelly and Christmas goodies.

Leo John is survived by his wife, Shirleen, 3 children, Laurie (Paul) Miles, Dell Rapids, Noel (Trish), Dell Rapids, Heather (Josh) Staggs, DuPont, WA, his mother, Gladys Heinricy, Colman, one brother, Dick (Darlene), Colman and one sister, Kathy (Chuck) Relf Schmidt, Avondale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann and his father, Leo Heinricy.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. Visitation is from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman.
