Kirstine Lillian Egsgaard

Kirstine Lillian Egsgaard, 82, of Dell Rapids passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids Chapel. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 with the family present at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home.  You may leave condolences at www.kahlerfh.com.

Kirstine Lillian Miller was born on May 9, 1931 to Ross and Dagmar (Skovan) Miller in Saskatchewan, Canada. She grew up and attended school in Canada. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After her discharge she attended nursing school and became a LPN. She worked at various hospitals in Canada and South Dakota. She married Aage Egsgaard in August of 1960. After their marriage, the couple lived in Denmark, Alaska, California and Canada before settling in Dell Rapids, SD. In the early 1970’s Lillian became a citizen of the United States of America. She worked at Sioux Valley Hospital, Terrace Manor Nursing Home and did home healthcare. She retired to help take care of her grandson and to travel. She became a resident of Dell Rapids Nursing and Rehab Center in 2003. She still continued to travel to Canada for as long as her health allowed.

Lillian was a member of the Lutheran Church in Dell Rapids. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, her son, David, four brothers, a sister and a daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her son, Richard Egsgaard of El Paso, TX; her daughters, Linda (Joe) Hulscher of Colton, SD and Lisa (Rick) Sellman of Minneapolis, MN; her grandson, Victor Spadaro and her three brothers, Ross (Iona) Miller, Harold (Carol) Miller and Norman Miller all of Redvers, Canada.
