Juliet (Kringen) Murren

Juliet K. Murren passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids, SD. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 19 at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. The family will be present to greet friends for visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Juliet K. Kringen Murren, daughter of Emelius and Carrie Kringen, was born on May 20, 1922 in Dell Rapids, SD. Juliet grew up in rural Dell Rapids and received her education in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School class of 1941.

Juliet was united in marriage with Leland L. Murren on November 5, 1943 in Garretson, SD. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls and Brandon. Family was of utmost importance to both Juliet and Leland and time spent with her siblings and extended family in rural South Dakota created many precious memories the family still holds dear today.

Juliet was a homemaker and mother to five children. She enjoyed serving as Sunday School teacher at both East Side Lutheran and Grace Lutheran Church for many years. Juliet also enjoyed gardening and quilting. Throughout the years, she had many entries in the county fair. She was a member of the Tri-State Garden Club, the Swingers Instrumental Group and the Topsey-Turvy Band.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Loren Murren and his wife Nancy of Rapid City, SD, Garry Murren and his wife Pam of Norfolk, NE, Julie Zwak and her husband Gerald of Sioux Falls, Marc Murren and his wife LuAnn of Sioux Falls, and John Murren and his wife JoLene of Brandon, SD; 11 grandchildren, JoLee Zwak of Sioux Falls, Jerry Zwak and his wife Lori of Pipestone, MN, Thad Murren and his wife Deb of Norfolk, NE, Tara Heinricy of Des Moines, IA, Paul Murren of Phoenix, AZ, Bradley Murren of Phoenix, AZ, Amy Heinert and her husband Paul of Sioux Falls, Emily Murren of Sioux Falls, John J. Murren Sioux Falls, Leland Murren of Brandon, and Macy Murren of Brandon; 7 great grandchildren, Tyson Rosenboom, Halle Rosenboom, Myah Heinricy, McKenzie Murren, Morgan Murren, Alexander Zwak, and Abbigale Zwak; many dear relatives and friends.

Juliet was preceded in death by her husband Leland Murren; parents, Emelius and Carrie (Brown) Kringen; two sisters, Ethel Wolf and Sigrid Bokker; two brothers, Gilbert and John Kringen.  www.georgeboom.com
