Hundreds of students in grades K-6 participated in the 2015 Little Quarrier Track Clinic held at the Dell Rapids High School this year. The clinic ran on three consecutive Mondays starting on April 13th and ending on April 27th. The students received instruction from current Dell Rapids High School track coaches and athletes. They worked on long jump, sprinting, starting blocks, hand offs, high jump, hurdles, shot put, discus, and relays during the three afternoons at the track.
Dell Rapids varsity girls track coach Mike Putnam said, “The ‘Meet Me at the Track’ Little Quarrier Track Camp was a lot of fun this year. We had over 200 little tracksters attend over the course of three different Monday’s. This is a great opportunity for our young Quarriers to work with are varsity athletes and coaches and to see how fun being part of the track team really is.”
Every participant received a t-shirt at the end of the camp as well.
