Henry “Hank” N. Bunkers, 71, of Dell Rapids passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at his home. His Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Trent Baptist Church, Trent. Interment with military rites will be in the Dell Rapids Cemetery at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday, July 5, 2012 with the family present from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home.
Henry “Hank” Norbert Bunkers was born on October 27, 1940 to Cleophas and Mary (Moes) Bunkers. He worked for Gil Haugen Construction, Quality Concrete and L. G. Everest Inc. where he was a front-end loader operator for 26 years. He retired in December of 2010.
Hank’s legacy of wood can be found in many area households. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, riding his four wheeler and telling his many stories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleophas and Mary, his brother, Donald, nephew, Ed and his niece, Janet Bunkers.
Hank is survived by his wife, Donna of Dell Rapids; his sons, Matthew (Ann) of Perry, GA, Michael (Diane) of Dell Rapids and Mark (Tracy) of Dell Rapids; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; his brother, Lee (Ethel) of Utah and his sister, Betty Kuper of Dell Rapids and many friends.
