The De Smet Bulldog track team returns 22 letter winners from last year’s team. They also return 12 athletes that qualified for the state meet a year ago.
Ganon Henrich, Kadyn Fast, Tom Augenbaugh, Trace Van Regenmorter, Britt Carlson, George Jensen, Sam Gigov, Mirra Beck, Addy Gross, Megan Dylla, Bella Wilkinson, Aubree Blue, Ivey Schoenfelder, and Jada Burke will be looked upon to lead the teams with state meet experience.
“On the girls side, we will be looking for some younger girls to step up and fill in spots for relays. The girls as a whole are fairly young with no seniors and one junior, so it will be a fun season watching them progress and compete with the top 24 system,” said head coach Cory Haugen.
“We will be returning our core group on the boys team, which will make us strong in the short relays and field events. This group of boys possess a lot of talent, and I’m expecting a large number of them to compete at a high level at state,” added Haugen.
