For three and a half quarters, the De Smet Bulldogs and Hamlin Chargers battled back and forth on Tuesday, January 16th. Hamlin then went on a big run late in the second half for a 64-46 win.
The Bulldogs had the first advantage, 13-10, at the end of the first quarter. Hamlin would outscore the Bulldogs 20-13 in the second quarter for a 30-26 lead at halftime. The two teams traded leads in the third quarter, and De Smet held a 38-37 lead with 2:40 to go in the quarter. The Chargers finished the quarter on a 9-1 run for a 46-39 lead. The momentum carried into the fourth quarter, and Hamlin outscored De Smet 18-7 in the final frame.
Geroge Jensen had 12 points and six rebounds. Grant Wilkinson finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Kadyn Fast also had 10 points with two steals. Tom Aughenbaugh had seven points, two rebounds, and four assists. Trace Van Regenmorter added four points and six rebounds.
