The De Smet Bulldog boys basketball team survived a late rally by the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones for a 59-50 win on Tuesday, December 12th.
De Smet held an eight-point lead after the first quarter, 22-14. The Cyclones cut the lead in half during the second quarter and trailed 29-25 at halftime. The Bulldogs put together a big third quarter and outscored Clark/Willow Lake 19-6 for a 48-31 lead going into the third quarter. The Cyclones cut the lead down to five points, 55-50, late in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs held for the 59-50 win.
Three players finished in double figures. Kadyn Fast had 16 points and five assists. Britt Carlson had 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals. George Jensen had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Tom Aughenbaugh had eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Trace VanRegenmorter added seven points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three assists.
