The De Smet Bulldogs used a strong fourth quarter to securer a 62-49 road win against the Deubook Area Dolphins on Friday, December 8th.
The Bulldogs held a 17-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Dolphins closed the gap down to one point, 31-30, by halftime. The two teams played close throughout the third quarter, and the Bulldogs led 45-43 going into the fourth quarter. The De Smet defense held Deubook to just six total points in the fourth quarter to lead them to the 62-49 win.
The Bulldogs shot 35% (19-55) from the field overall, but only 4-25 on three-point attempts, and 67% (20-30) from the free-throw line. Deubook finished the game shooting 36% (19-53) overall, 2-19 on three-point attempts, and 75% (9-12) from the free-throw line.
Grant Wilkinson had 27 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. George Jensen added 12 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Kadyn Fast finished with 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tom Aughenbaugh had eight points, two rebounds, and four assists.
