The 2022 playoff run for the De Smet Bulldog football team ended on the road in Tulare on Friday, November 4th. The Bulldogs traveled to play the Hitchcock/Tulare Patriots in a 9B semifinal game. The Patriots took the win 48-0.
The Patriots built a big lead in the first quarter, scoring three touchdowns. Hitchcock/Tulare converted two of the three two-point conversions and lead 22-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldog defense held the Patriots to just one touchdown in the second quarter, but the offense was unable to score. The Patriots led 28-0 at halftime.
Hitchcock/Tulare got two more touchdowns in the third quarter to build a 42-0 lead by the end of the quarter. They would add one more score in the fourth quarter for the final 48-0 score.
De Smet finishes the 2022 football season with an overall record of 7-4 with two of the four losses against the Patriots.
