The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal track teams return a total of 10 athletes that qualified for the state track meet in 2022. In addition to these state qualifiers returning this season, the Cardinals also have an additional eight letter winners returning for the 2023 season.
“With all that we have seen in our athletes’ work ethic, we are in for an exciting year here at St Mary track as we battle through the outdoor season with aspirations of once again being a competitive and the possibility of reaching the state meet,” said head coach Thomas TenEyck.
Coach TenEyck also mentioned to supports of the Cardinal track team to keep an eye on the girls relay teams guided by Maya Heinitz and Ella Griffin as well as Jaycee Tebay in the field events. On the boys side, he mentioned that Gave Lindeman, Lucas Flemmer, and Nic Gaspar will be athletes to watch this season.
