The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals (14-2) rolled past the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles at home on Saturday, February 4th. St Mary defeated the Eagles 82-12.
The Cardinals built a big lead by the end of the first quarter, 31-2, and kept rolling from there. They led 55-9 at halftime and 67-9 at the end of the third quarter.
St Mary shot 50% (32-64) from the field overall, 38% (12-32) from three-point area, and 6-9 from the free-throw line. Mitchell Christian shoot 10% (4-39) from the field, 1-9 on three-point attempts, and 3-9 from the free-throw line.
Ella Griffin had 19 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and six steals. Madala Hanson had 17 points, three assists, and two steals. Whitney Warwick finished with 12 points and four steals. Maddie Reiff had eight points and five rebounds. Maya Heinitz ended with six points and three assists. Lucy Vargas and Sierra Klein each had four points. Addison Libis and Rylee Chamley had three points each. Madelyn Klein, Stephenie Geraets, and Sydney Klein all had two points each. S. Klein also had five rebounds and four assists.
