Cardinals Take Road Loss at Baltic

Playing in their second straight match in as many days, the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals took a road loss at the Baltic Bulldogs on Tuesday, September 27th.  The Bulldogs won in straight sets.

After a slim 5-4 lead for the Bulldogs, Baltic went on a big run.  The Bulldogs went on a 15-2 run for a 20-6 lead and took the win in the first set 25-10.  The Bulldogs had about a two-point lead throughout the early parts of the second set, but the Cardinals tied the score 12-12.  Baltic made another run, this time 10-2, for a 22-14 lead.  The Bulldogs won the second set 25-16.  The third set started back-and-forth.  Baltic extended a 9-8 lead to 12-9.  The Bulldogs slowly extended their lead throughout the set and won 25-18.

Ella Griffin had a eight kills and eight digs along with a set assist and ace serve.  Brianna Griffin had two kills and a block.  Maya Heinitz, Megan Geraets, and Jaycee Tebay all had one kill each.  Heinitz also had 12 digs.  Brianna Lindeman finished with 12 set assists and five digs.  Josie Baumberger had seven digs.
