The St Mary’s Cardinal girls golf team battled until the end and finished second at the 2026 South Dakota State B Girls Golf Tournament at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings on Monday, June 1st and Tuesday, June 2nd. The Cardinals finished with a team score of 483, just two strokes short of Clark/Willow Lake at 481.
All four golfers placed in the top 15 for the Cardinals. Maddison Bacon finished fourth individually with a two-day score of 157 (78, 79). Allie Hansen tied for seventh with a 161 (78, 83). Sophie McNaughton (84, 82) and Carley Roiger (83, 83) both tied for 13th with a two-day total of 166.
Jonah McNaughton and Paxton Beckman represented the Cardinals in the boys tournament held at Brookings Country Club. They both tied for 100th with a two-day score of 176. McNaughton had rounds of 84 and 92, while Beckman had rounds of 87 and 89.
