The St Mary Cardinal golf team hosted the Region 3B tournament at Rocky Run Golf Course on Thursday, May 21st. The girls team won the region title for the second straight year with a team score of 262. The boys team finished ninth with a score of 273.
Sophie McNaughton finished second with a round of 84. Allie Hansen placed third also with an 84. Maddison Bacon finished eighth with a 94. Carley Roiger placed ninth with a round of 97.
For the boys team, Paxton Beckman and Jonah McNaughton qualified for the state tournament. Beckman finished 13th with an 82. J. McNaughton tied for 18th with a round of 87. Hayes Olinger ended with a 104, and Reid Roiger had a round of 111.
The boys and girls State B Golf Tournaments will be held in Brookings on Monday, June 1st and Tuesday, June 2nd. The girls will play at Edgebrook Golf course, and the boys will play at Brookings Country Club.
