The St Mary Cardinal girls had their seven-game winning streak stopped by the Rock Valley Rockets at the DVC Border Battle in Colman on Saturday, January 18th. The Rockets defeated the Cardinals 66-39.
Rock Valley built a six-point lead, 13-7, by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter proved to be big quarter in the game. The Rockets outscored the Cardinals 21-8 and led 34-15 at halftime. Their lead grew to 51-26 going into the fourth quarter.
St Mar shot just 28% (15-53) overall, 19% (5-26) on three-point shots, and 4-8 from the free-throw line. Rock Valley finished the game shooting 50% (24-48) overall, 50% (13-26) on three-point shots, and 5-6 from the free-throw line.
Jenna Miller had 13 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Madala Hanson finished with 11 points. Addison Libis ended with seven points and six rebounds. Maddyn LeBrun had six points, six rebounds, and two steals.
