For the Lady Cardinals, the season has started off well. They are 11-3 to this point, here we will look at their four most recent regular season games. St. Mary’s took on Deubrook Area, Ethan, Howard, and Arlington. The Cardinals would lose only one of those games, to the Ethan Rustlers. The Cardinals go 3-1 and In that stretch they have gone 10-3 in sets.
St. Mary’s Vs Deubrook

In the first game of the stretch seeing the Cardinals go 3-1 in four games, the Lady Cards were able to control the game from the very start in Deubrook. Sophomores Harper Werdel and Natalie Gilbert along with junior Emy Herber dominated. St Mary would only trail four times in the first two sets. These deficits for the Cardinals were only one or two points each time as the Dolphins could get no footing. In the third set, Deubrook maintained a lead for most of the time before the Cardinals came back from down five to win the set and game. The sets went 25-22, 25-17, and finally 25-21.
Werdel led the way with thirteen kills, Herber tacked on nine with Gilbert adding eight. Maddyn Lebrun would finish with six with Stephenie and Paige Geraets adding three a piece. Gilbert finished with twenty-nine assists with Madelyn Klein adding 13. S Geraets added two assists. Herber had four blocks compared to Gilbert and Lebrun’s two each and Werdel’s one. Lebrun would finish with thirty-six digs while Layla Hanson had thirty. In addition, Werdel had twenty-four, Gilbert had eighteen, S. Geraets had ten, Herber had eight, Klein finished with seven and P. Geraets added six. Further, at the service line, P. Geraets, Gilbert, and Werdel each tallied an ace.
St. Mary’s Vs Ethan

In the second game of the run seeing the Cardinals go 3-1, St. Mary’s would fall to Ethan. In a 3-1 set loss for St Mary’s, the Lady Cards struggle to find a strong footing. The Cardinals would, unlike their previous game, only take one set in fashion of 18-25, 25-19, 8-25, and 16-25 finishes. Ethan got out fast on their home-turf, out-gunning the Cardinals. Despite the loss, it was a great game from Emy Herber and Stephenie Geraets.
It was Harper Werdel leading in kills, finishing with eleven. S. Geraets ultimately ended up with seven to Herber’s five. Maddyn Lebrun finished with three kills alongside Natalie Gilbert’s two. Gilbert finished with twenty-three assists alongside Madelyn Klein’s five and S Geraets’ lone assist. Herber had five blocks while S. Geraets had three, Paige Geraets, Gilbert, and Lebrun each had a block. Lebrun had fifteen digs to Layla Hanson’s thirteen and Werdel and Gilbert’s twelve each. S. Geraets had nine while Herber had three; Klein and P. Geraets each had a dig. From the service line, Herber had two aces while P. Geraets also added an ace.
St. Mary’s Vs Howard

The third game of the 4-1 run saw the Cardinals at home against Howard. The Tigers weren’t on the same level as the Lady Cards as St Mary’s swept Howard in scores of 25-13, 25-10, and 25-10. Harper Werdel and Natalie Gilbert would come up big in the game. St. Mary’s was in control for the entirety of the game, not surrendering the lead one time.
Werdel led the way with eleven kills. Alongside her were Stephenie and Paige Geraets, Maddyn Lebrun, and Emy Herber all notching five kills. In addition, Gilbert had four kills and freshman Kate Liebl had one kill. Further, Gilbert totaled twenty-four assists along with Madelyn Klein’s ten assists. S Geraets added two assists. On the contrary, defensively, Herber and both of the Geraets’ finished with one block. Lebrun had fifteen digs with Layla Hanson adding ten. Werdel added seven while Klein, Gilbert, and Lucy Vargas each had six digs. Herber had five digs in comparison to P Geraets’ four; S. Geraets and Reagan Griffin added three digs a piece. From the service line, Gilbert notched three aces while Lebrun and the two Geraets’ added two of their own. Hanson, Werdel, and Herber each had an ace.
St. Mary’s Vs Arlington

Seeing the Cardinals go 3-1 in their last four games was capped off at home in a battle of the Cardinals. Natalie Gilbert came up huge from the service line while Emy Herber and Harper Werdel also had big games. St Mary’s would beat Arlington in set scores of 25-14, 25-21, and 25-18. The Lady Cards of St Mary’s found their groove early and kept footing towards the sweep of Arlington.
Werdel and Herber were tied at the top with eleven kills while Stephenie Geraets added four, Gilbert and Maddyn Lebrun added three each, and Paige Geraets added two. Gilbert had 27 assists along with Madelyn Klein finishing with five and S. Geraets adding two of her own. P. Geraets and Herber each had two blocks while Gilbert, Lebrun, and Werdel each had a block. Werdel had twenty-nine digs with Layla Hanson, Lebrun, and Gilbert each adding sixteen. Klein had six with S. Geraets and Herber each adding four; P. Geraets finished with two digs. From the service line, Gilbert had eight aces with Werdel and P. Geraets each having an ace of their own.
