St Mary Girls Roll Past Elks

The St Mary Cardinals girls got out to a big lead in the first quarter and rolled past the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks, 70-20, on Monday, January 13th.

The Cardinals put 22 points on the board in the opening quarter and led 22-6 going into the second quarter.  The lead for St Mary grew to 33-17 by halftime.  The offense kept rolling in the second half, while the defense allowed just three second half points.  The Cardinals led 52-19 going into the fourth quarter.

St Mary shot 42% (27-64) overall in the game, 33% (8-24) on three-point shots, and 62% (8-13) from the free-throw line.  Elkton-Lake Benton shot just 13% (5-39) overall, 1-13 on three-point attempts, and 9-20 from the free-throw line.

Madala Hanson had 21 points, four rebounds, five steals, and two assists.  Jenna Miller added 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Megan Geraets had eight points and three rebounds.  Addison Libis also had eight points and three rebounds.  Maddyn LeBrun ended with five points and five rebounds.
