St Mary Girls Pull Away from Garretson

The St Mary Cardinal girls overcame a slow start and pulled away from the Garretson Blue Dragons in a 44-27 win in Garretson on Tuesday, January 7th.

St Mary was held to just four points in the first quarter and trailed 5-4 going into the second quarter.  The Cardinals found their groove offensively and rallied to a 22-12 halftime lead.  They were able to keep things rolling in the second half.  St Mary outscored the Blue Dragons 12-11 in the third quarter and then 10-4 in the final quarter.

The Cardinals shot 32.6% (14-43) overall, 20% (4-20) on three-point shots, and 75% (12-16) from the free-throw line.  Garreton finished the game shooting 29.4% (10-34) overall, 33% (4-12) from three-point area, and 3-7 from the free-throw line.

Madala Hanson had 13 points, five rebounds, and five steals.  Maddyn LeBrun also had 15 points and five rebounds with four steals.  Brianna Griffin added seven points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Addison Libis had four points and five rebounds, and Jenna Miller had four points and four steals.
