The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal boys basketball team had an overall record of 15-6 last season with a post season win, and the team is hoping to build on the success of last season. The Cardinals will have plenty of experience returning four starters and four seniors.
Senior Nic Gaspar, juniors Trevon Beckman and Maverick LeBrun, and sophomore Trimmier Hanson are the returning starters from a year ago. Seniors Camden Gilbert, Owen Vargas, and Lucus Flemmer are the other three seniors looking to make an impact this year. The Cardinals will also look to sophomores Walker Warwick, Lincoln LeBrun, and Peyton Lamb to have an impact thhis season.
“With limited size once again in the paint, we will try and run an uptempo style of offense. We will rely on our outside shooting and try to take advantage of favorable matchups. We will also have to outwork our opponent on the defensive end and emphasize winning the rebounding battle to give ourselves a chance to win,” said head coach Colby Fitzgerald.
St Mary’s season starts at Mitchell Christian on Tuesday, December 12th.
