The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals finished with an even 5-5 record overall in 2022. Their season came to an end in the second round of the playoffs to eventual state champion Hitchcock-Tulare.
The Cardinals will have just four seniors returning to this year’s team. They are Nic Gaspar, Camden Gilbert, Lucas Flemmer, and Owen Vargas. They will be joined by juniors Keaton Hansen and Maverick LeBrun as well as sophomores Mason Ahlers, Lincoln LeBrun, Trimmier Hanson, and Carlo Pica.
“We are looking to get better each and every practice. We have a young team this year, but they work hard an dare picking up on things very well. I’m looking for us to improve and be a force by the end of the season,” said head coach Ross Flemmer.
St Mary hits the road to start the 2023 season. They will play Waverly-South Shore on Friday, August 18th.
