St Mary Girls Scorch Nets in Chester

The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls hit 15 three-point shots and was 47% from the field in a 77-41 win at the Chester Flyers on Friday, January 6th.

Chester actually opened the game with a 5-0 run.  St Mary, however, did have a 19-15 lead a the end of the first quarter.  The game was just a six point difference, 31-25, in favor of the Cardinals with 3:25 to play in the second quarter.  From that point onwards, however, the Cardinals dominated.  St Mary finished the game with a 46-16 scoring difference.

The Cardinals were 27-57 overall from the field, 42% (15-36) from three-point area, and 8-10 from the free-throw line.  Chester shot 29% (13-45) from the field, 15% (2-13) from three-point area, and 65% (13-20) from free-throw line.  The St Mary defense was also fantastic forcing 20 turnovers, 16 of those on steals.

Madala Hanson had 29 points, five rebounds, six steals, and two assists.  Whitney Warwick had 14 points.  Addison Libis added 10 points and two steals.  Ella Griffin had nine points, five rebounds, two steals, and four assists.  Maya Heinitz had six points, three rebounds, three steals, and three assists.
