The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal boys basketball team earned a home win over the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks on Thursday, December 5th. The Cardinals led at every quarter break in their 65-45 victory.
St Mary led by seven points, 15-8, at the end of the first quarter. The Cardinals pushed the lead to 24-14 at halftime. Both offenses got rolling in the third quarter, and each team more than doubled their score in the quarter. St Mary nearly double their lead, 50-32, by the end of the third quarter.
The Cardinals shot 45% (25-56) from the field, 24% (4-17) from three-point area, and 65% (11-17) from the free-throw line. The Redhawks shot 34% (19-56) overall, 12% (2-17) from three-point area, and 50% (5-10) from the free-throw line.
Trevon Beckman had 22 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Nic Gaspar finished with 19 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Maverick LeBrun added 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. CJ Smith had five points and eight rebounds, and Trimmier Hanson had four points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
