Darlene “Dolly” Goode

Darlene “Dolly” Fern Goode, age 86 passed away March 6, 2013 in Milwaukie Oregon. Dolly was born March 7, 1926 in Chester, South Dakota to Edward and Mary Michel. Dolly grew up in South Dakota graduating from Chester High School in 1944 and graduated from the nursing program at McKenna Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD in 1947. On October 25, 1949 she married George Goode Jr. in Vancouver, Washington. In 1950, Barbara Jo Goode was born and in 1951, Marilyn Kay Goode was born. The family lived in South Dakota, California and Oregon and finally settled in Milwaukie, Oregon in 1962.

In 1966 Kelley Ann Goode was born. Dolly worked at Milwaukie Convalescent Center as a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing until her retirement. Dolly was a member of St. John the Catholic Church in Milwaukie and enjoyed watching Blazer games and gardening in her yard.

Dolly was preceded in death by her husband George in 1998, daughter Barbara Dietz in 2009 and daughter Marilyn Goode in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Wayne and Glenn Michel and her sister, Ruth Nebben.

Dolly is survived by a daughter: Kelley (Stu) Stickler, Milwaukie, OR; sister: Shirley “Mick” (Paul “Pete”) Scholten, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law: Carol Michel, Harbor City, CA, and Connie Michel, Dell Rapids, SD; brother-in-law: Palmer Nebben, Colman, SD; four grandchildren Shawna Dietz of Milwaukie, Jason Dietz and wife Sarah of Canby, Tyler Stickler of Whittier, CA and Nicole Stickler of Milwaukie, two great grandchildren Darian Crawford-Dietz and Moria Dietz of Canby and sister Shirley Scholten of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 14, 11:00 AM at Peake Funeral Home in Milwaukie, OR with burial to follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR. Condolences may be sent to www.barnett-lewisfuneralhome.com.
