Cynthia Hockett

Cynthia A. Hockett, 56, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 with her family by her side at The Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.

Cindy was born May 27, 1956 in Spencer, Iowa to Mildred (Millie) Mullett and Lloyd Hill. She grew up in Brandon, SD with her mother and father Kenneth and Millie Hughes. Cindy graduated from Brandon Valley High School and attended Worthington Community College.

She married James Hockett on March 4, 1978 in Brandon, SD. For the past five years and at the time of her death, she was employed at Midco Call Center-Customer Service.

Cindy will be always remembered for her caring personality, her soft touch and infectious smile.  She loved to do crossword puzzles, drawing, writing poems and stories, but her passion was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Jim Hockett of Crooks, SD; son, Corey Hockett of Huron, SD and daughter, Jamie Hockett, and son-in-law, Brent Van Regenmorter of Sioux Falls, SD; mother, Millie Hughes of Sioux Falls, SD; granddaughters, Cassidy Tewes and Sidney Hockett of Crooks, SD; grandson, Blake Van Regenmorter of Sioux Falls SD; three brothers, Randy Hill and wife Sharol of Crooks, SD, Raymond Hill of Ocheyedan, IA and Louie Hughes of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Susan Popavich and husband Mike of Burnsville, MN; Flo Bowden and husband Dennis Binkerd of Sioux Falls, SD;   mother-in-law, Mary Hockett of Madison, SD; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Jorge and Lenette Hockett; 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Hockett and Leonard Hockett; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her fathers, Kenneth Hughes and Lloyd Hill; and one brother, Jeff Hughes.
