Black Sox Finish 1-1 on Two Sunday Games

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox played both Canton and Dakota Valley on Sunday, May 5th.  The Black Sox defeated Canton but lost to Dakota Valley.

Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 13, Canton 12

Canton scored in every inning, but the Black Sox used a 10-run third inning to help them to a 13-12 win.  Canton scored three in the first, one in the second, and two in the third for a 6-0 lead.  The Black Sox had their 10-run third inning to go ahead 10-6.  Both teams scored a run in the fourth.  Canton then scored one in the fifth and three in the six to tie the game 11-11.  The Black Sox got two runs in the bottom of the sixth and then held Canton to a single run in the seventh to hold on for the win.

Ethan Bovill had a triple and single with three RBIs.  Jax Fickbohm had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Robert Watkins finished with two singles and an RBI.  Ashton Oberle had a single and RBI.  Cooper Nelson, Jacob Cole, and Ian Henderson all had a single.  Dominic Van Egdom had two RBIs, and Lucas Anderson and Jace Adams both had one RBI.

Dakota Valley 19, Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 4

Dakota Valley broke free in the third inning to help them to a 19-4 win.  Both teams scored a run in the first inning.  Dakota Valley added five runs in the top of the second.  The Black Sox scored two times in the bottom of the inning to make the score 6-3.  Dakota Valley then had a seven-run third inning and scored six more in the top of the fourth.  Beresford/Alcester-Hudson got just one more run in the bottom of the fourth.

Bovill had a single and two RBIs.  Oberle had a single and an RBI.  Watkins finished with two hits, one a double.  Kasen Voss and Jax Wurth both added one hit.  Fickbohm had an RBI.
