Vermillion Scores Six in a Row in Win over Black Sox

Vermillion broke a 5-5 tie and scored six straight runs for an 11-5 victory over the Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox on Friday, May 3rd.

Vermillion scored a run in the top of the first for an early 1-0 lead.  The Black Sox scored three times in the bottom of the second.  Vermillion got another run in the top of the third to cut the lead to 3-2.  They would add three more in the top of the fourth.  Beresford/Alcester-Hudson tied the game, 5-5, with a two-run bottom of the fourth.  Vermillion, however, scored five times in the top of the fifth.  They added another run in the top of the sixth.

Ashton Oberle and Jacob Cole both had two hits each.  Jace Adams finished with a hit and two RBIs.  Jax Fickbohm added a double and an RBI.  Robert Watkins, Dominic Van Egdom, and Jax Wurth all had one single each.

Fickbohm pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed an earned run on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts.  Kason Voss pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits and seven walks with two strikeouts.  Joseph Anderson threw 2/3 of an inning and allowed five runs, three earned, on three hits and two walks.
