Black Sox Edge Elk Point-Jefferson

A run in the bottom of the sixth helped the Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox to a 2-1 win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Wednesday, May 1st.

Elk Point-Jefferson scratched across a run with two outs on an RBI single in the top of the second inning.  The Black Sox tied the game in the bottom of the third when Ethan Bovill scored on a passed ball.  The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth.  Ian Henderson delivered an RBI single to left field to give the Black Sox a 2. 1 lead.  Bovill struck out the side in the top of the seventh to seal the win.

Henderson had a single and an RBI.  Robert Watkins added a double.  Bovill, Ashton Oberle, Jace Adams, and Jax Fickbohm all had one hit each.  Bovill pitched a seven-inning complete game allowing an earned run on six hits while recording 12 strikeouts.
