The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team dropped their home opener in the 2023 season on Tuesday, August 22nd. The Canton C-Hawks won in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-10, and 25-10.
Canton got out to a big run in each of the three sets. In the opening set, the C-Hawks scored the first seven point. They extended the lead to 16-3 before winning 25-9. Canton started the second set on a 9-1 run. The Watchdogs pulled within four points, 9-5, but the C-Hawks responded with a 12-4 run to lead 21-9 and then won the set. Another early run put Canton in front 7-3 in the third set. Beresford was within two points early, 7-5, but Canton outscored the Watchdogs 18-5 the rest of the way to take the match.
