The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team hosted the Vermillion Tanagers on Tuesday, October 22nd. The Watchdogs by scores of 25-16, 25-21, and 25-11.
The first set started with an early 2-2 tie. Vermillion held a two-point lead, 7-5, but the Watchdogs tied the score again 8-8. After leading by just a point, 11-10, Beresford went on a 9-3 run to extend their lead to 20-13. They finished the set with a 25-16 win.
Vermillion grabbed an early 10-2 lead to start the second set. The Tanagers maintained a 12-5 lead, but the Watchdogs started a big rally. Beresford went on a 7-3 run to cut the lead to 15-12. They continued to rally and tied the score 18-18. After ties of 19-19 and 20-20, the Watchdogs finished the set on a 5-1 run for a 25-21 win.
The Watchdogs carried the momentum into the third set. Beresford went started with an 8-3 lead and continued building on it throughout the set. They led 14-6, 17-10, and 20-10. The Watchdogs finished the match with one more 5-1 run for a 25-11 victory.
