The Beresford Watchdog volleyball team had their second straight home match to start the 2023 season on Thursday, August 24th. The Watchdogs hosted the Garretson Blue Dragons, and the Blue Dragons won in straight sets 25-15, 25-14, and 25-20.
Garretson struck first with an early 5-1 run to start the first set. The Blue Dragons extended that lead to 14-7 and then 22-9. They would cruise to victory in the first set 25-15. Garretson again started hot in the second set going ahead 7-1. The Watchdogs rallied for six straight to tie the score 7-7. The Blue Dragons then went on an 11-6 run for an 18-13 lead. They then finished the set on a 7-1 run for a 25-14 win. In the third set the Watchdogs got out to a 6-1 lead. Garretson eventually tied the score 10-10. The two teams were tied again 14-14, but that’s when the Blue Dragons rallied again. They went on a 7-1 run to lead 21-15, which proved to be the difference. Garretson finished the match with a 25-20 win.
