Watchdog Football Looking for Another Successful Season

The Beresford Watchdog football team will have many holes to fill in the 2023 season, but will look to put together another strong season building on last year’s 8-3 record.

The Watchdogs return just 12 letter winners, four starters on offense, and five starters on defense to this year’s team.  Beresford will be led by Jack Stenen, Seth James, Robert Watkins, Ryan Sveeggen, Cooper Nelson, and Kohen Schurch.  Gaval Valder, Andrew Niles, Colton Stene, Joe Sharp, Jace Adams, Jax Fickbohm, and Malachi James will also be expected to contribute significantly.

“Our guys understand what it takes to win and win consistently, something that has not happened in the Beresford Watchdogs football program in 30 years.  We also know that last season is in the past, and this season provides a whole new set of challenges.  We just have to continue to work harder, stay healthy, strive to get better each week, be physical and tough, and respond to adversity.  Each and every week poses a challenge.  We must take one game, one week, at a time and prepare as hard as we can each week and give our best effort,” said head coach Scott Ebert.

The Watchdogs travel to Milbank on Friday, August 25th to start the 2023 season.
