The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 14U Black Sox took a 5-2 road win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Wednesday, July 5th.
The Black Sox grabbed an early lead in this game. Evan Haak had an RBI single in the top of the first. The lead extended to 2-0 after an RBI single by Ashton Oberle in the top of the second. Elk Point-Jefferson made the score 2-1 after a run in the bottom of the second. They tied the game with another run in the bottom of the fourth.
Ian Henderson reached on an error, which also scored Oberle, to give the Black Sox a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth. Beresford/Alcester-Hudson would extend the lead with two more runs in the top of the second. Lucas Anderson had a two-run single.
Oberle finished with three hits and an RBI. Haak had two hits and an RBI. Anderson finished with a hit and two RBIs. Henderson and Cameron Mullinix both had a single. Haak pitched six innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on two hits and two walks with nine strikeouts. Kasen Voss pitched one inning and struck out two batters.
