BAH 14U Takes Two from Ponca, NE

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 14U Black Sox won both games of a double header against Ponca, NE on Friday, June 30th.  The Black Sox won the first game 8-3 and the second game 9-7.

BAH 8, Ponca 3

The Black Sox broke a 3-3 tie after two innings with five straight runs.  BAH scored two runs in the top of the third to go ahead 5-3, and then added three more runs in the top of the fourth to get the win.

Lucas Anderson had two hits and an RBI.  Jackson Meyer finished with a double and two RBIs.  Kasen Voss had a single and an RBI.  Ashton Oberle added a double.  Oberle pitched 3 2/3 innings and recorded four strikeouts.  Anderson pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout.

BAH 9, Ponca 7

The Black Sox scored in every inning, but had to come from behind to get the 9-7 win in game two.  BAH scored a run in the top of the first, but Ponca scored two in the bottom of the inning.  The Black Sox regained the lead with two runs in the top of the second, 3-2.  Ponca jumped ahead 6-3 with a four-run second inning.  BAH responded with two runs in the third, three in the top of the fourth, and one in the fifth for a 9-6 lead.  Ponca got just one run in the bottom of the fifth.

Evan Haak and Meyer each had two hits and an RBI.  Oberle added a double with two RBIs.  Voss, Evan Dressen, and Owen Serck all had a hit and an RBI.  Anderson finished with a single.  Dressen allowed three earned runs on three walks.  Dexton Miller pitched an inning and allowed three earned runs on a hit and three walks.  Payden Hoffman pitched one inning and allowed two walks with a strikeout.  Oberle pitched three innings and allowed an earned run on four hits and two walks with one strikeout.
