Rally Falls Short for BAH 14U Black Sox

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 14U Black Sox trailed by five runs to Dakota Valley 13s going into the bottom of the seventh inning.  They rallied for four runs, but the rally stopped there, and Dakota Valley held for a 7-6 win on Tuesday, June 27th.

Ian Henderson scored on a wild pitch giving the Black Sox a 1-0 lead in the first inning.  Dakota Valley tied the game with a run in the top of the second.  BAH went ahead with another run in the bottom of the second.  Dakota Valley tied the game with a run in the top of the fourth and then took the lead, 3-2, with a run in the top of the sixth.  Dakota Valley then scored four times in the top of the seven to go ahead 7-2.

Ashton Oberle had an RBI ground out, which was the second out of the seventh inning for BAH.  Henderson followed with an RBI single.  Evan Haak drove home two with a double cutting the lead to 7-6.  With Haak on second and two outs, Dakota Valley was able to get the last out to hold on to the win.

Henderson had two hits and an RBI.  Haak had a double and two RBIs.  Oberle finished with a single and an RBI.  Jackson Meyer added a double.  Kasen Voss, Lucas Anderson, and Evan Dressen all had one hit each.  Voss pitched four innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts.  Payden Hoffman pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing four runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Anderson had one strikeout.
