Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 16U Wins First Game of Season

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 16U Black Sox earned their first win of the season on Wednesday, June 21st.  They held off Elk Point-Jefferson 9-7 at home.

Elk Point-Jefferson scored two runs in the top of the first for an early 2-0 lead.  The Black Sox cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the first.  BAH took their first lead of the game, 4-2, with a three-run bottom of the third.  The score remained 4-2 after four innings of play.

Elk Point-Jefferson had a big top of the fifth inning, scoring five times to go ahead 7-4.  The Black Sox responded with a four-run bottom of the fifth to regain the lead 8-7.  BAH added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 9-7.

Ashton Oberle had four hits, one a triple, and an RBI.  Jax Fickbohm added two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs.  Tommy Walth added two singles and an RBI.  Jacob Cole had a hit and an RBI.  Dillon Davidson ended with a triple.  Ethan Bovill had two RBIs in the game.  Walth pitched four innings allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks with nine strikeouts.  Fickbohm pitched three innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts.
