Black Sox Still Searching for First Win

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox hosted Dakota Valley on Friday, April 14th.  The Black Sox are still looking for their first win as Dakota Valley got the win by a score of 18-2.

Dakota Valley put the pressure on early.  They scored two times in the top of the first inning.  The Black Sox got one run back in the bottom of the first.  Cooper Nelson had an RBI single to drive home Josepth Anderson.  Dakota Valley put six more runs on the board in the top of the second, and Beresford/Alcester-Hudson only got one back in the bottom of the inning.  Ashton Oberle scored on an error to make the score 8-2.  Dakota Valley added one more run in the top of the third to increase their lead to 9-2.  The scored remained 9-2 until the sixth.  Dakota Valley got two runs in the top of the sixth and then seven more in the top of the seventh.

Nelson had a single and an RBI.  Anderson, Jax Fickbohm, Ethan Bovill, and Oberle all had hits in the game as well.  Fickbohm pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs, six earned, on four hits and a walk with a strikeout.  Bovill pitched four innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Anderson pitched one inning and allowed four earned runs on four hits and two walks while recording a strikeout.
