Black Sox Drop Game to Freeman/Canistota

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox hosted the Freeman/Canistota Sticks on Wednesday, April 19th. The Sticks scored in every inning for a 15-4 victory.

Freeman/Canistota got four runs right way in the top of the first inning.  The Black Sox got one run in the bottom of the first on an RBI single to right field by Cooper Nelson.  Freeman/Canistota scored two more times in the top of the second inning.  Joseph Anderson had an RBI single in the bottom of the inning, but the Sticks led 6-2 after two innings.  After another two runs, the Sticks extended their lead to 8-2.  Beresford/Alcester-Hudson scored their final two runs in the bottom of the third.  Jax Fickbohm scored on a wild pitch and Robert Watkins stole home to cut the lead to 8-4.  The Sticks got two more in the fourth and then had a big five-run fifth inning.

Anderson and Nelson both had two hits and an RBI each.  Ashton Oberle had the only other hit for the Black Sox.  Beresford/Alecster-Hudson committed nine errors defensively.  Landen Kroger pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs, only three earned, on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Conner Latendresse pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing two runs, neither earned, on a hit with three strikeouts.  Ethan Bovill pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed five runs, four earned, on four hits and walks.  Fickbohm pitched 1/3 of an inning.
