Black Sox Fall to Trappers

The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox (0-5) are still looking for their first win of the 2023 season.  The Black Sox fell to the Scotland/Menno Trappers 18-1 on Wednesday, April 12th.

The Trappers got out to a big lead in the first two innings.  Scotland/Menno scored five times in the bottom of the first and then nine more in the bottom of the second for a 14-0 lead.  They added three more in the bottom of the third to make the score 17-1.  The Black Sox got their lone run in the top of the fourth on an RBI double by Dominic Van Egdom.  The Trappers scored one more time in the bottom of the fourth.

Van Egdom had a double and an RBI.  Cooper Nelson finished with a single for the only other hit for the Black Sox.  Conner Latendresse pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing 12 runs, nine earned, on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Kasen Voss pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed six runs, two earned, on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts.
