The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team traveled to Dell Rapids on Monday, September 7th for a Labor Day match. The Quarriers used big runs in each of the three sets and won by scores of 25-10, 25-10, and 25-12.
Dell Rapids started the first set with a 4-1 lead. Baltic closed the gap to 6-4, but the Quarriers scored the next three points to extend the lead to 9-4. The Bulldogs were within four points, 14-10, but Dell Rapids finished the first set on an 11-0 run for the 25-10 lead.
They carried that momentum into the second set and started with a 6-1 run. The Bulldogs cut the lead to three points, 7-4, but once again Dell Rapids went on a run. The Quarriers went on a 9-2 advantage to make the score 16-6. They finished on a 9-4 run to win 25-10.
The Bulldogs started the third set with a 4-0 run. Dell Rapids would tie the score 4-4. After a 5-5 tie, Dell Rapids went in front 8-5. The Bulldogs got within a point, 9-8, but then another run came for the Quarriers. They went on a 10-0 run to go ahead 19-8 on their way to the 25-12 victory.
