Bulldogs Drop First Football Game of Season

The Baltic Bulldogs hosted the Beresford Watchdogs to start the 2024 football season on Friday, August 23rd.  Beresford scored early and often in a 40-8 victory.

The Watchdogs got two scores in the first quarter, both on pass plays.  One was for nine yards and the other for 29 yards.  Both extra points were made to give Beresford a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.  They extended their lead to 27-0 after a 10-yard rushing touchdown and a 31-yard rushing touchdown.  Baltic got on the board before halftime.  Henry Anderson had a 13-yard touchdown run.  Jackson Goehring ran into the endzone for the two-point conversion to make the score 27-8.

Beresford, however, would get two more touchdowns in the second half.  The first one was a recovered fumble in the endzone in the third quarter.  The final score came on a five-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Baltic was held to 166 yards of offense, 122 rushing yards and 44 passing yards.  The Watchdogs had 336 yards of total offense, 126 rushing yards and 210 passing yards.  Braxten Allen had seven carries for 47 yards.  Anderson finished with 13 carried for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Aaron Nordbye had seven rushes for 29 yards.  Anderson was also 3-5 passing for 44 yards.  Ben Erickson caught two passes for 41 yards, and Ryder Siemonsma had a catch for three yards.

Dylan Runestand ad 3.5 tackles and an interception.  Allen had one tackles with an interception.  Elias Oakley had 6.5 tackles.  Aiden Peters finished with 4.5 tackles.  Goehring, Tyler Kennedy, and Bradyn Hanson all had four tackles each.  Nordbye added three tackles.
