Madison Black 17U scored eight runs early in the game on their way to a 14-5 win over Baltic 17U on Tuesday, July 8th.
Madison scored four times in the top of the first inning. Baltic cut the lead in half with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but Madison added four more in the top of the second for an 8-2 lead. Baltic again cut the lead in half, 8-4, with two runs in the bottom of the third. After Madison scored two more runs in the top of the fourth, Baltic plated a run in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 10-5. Madison added a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh for the 14-5 win.
Jackson Goehring had two hits, including one double. Elias Oakley had a double with two RBIs. Gavin Skotvold had a single and two RBIs. Joey Grunewaldt had a single and an RBI. Aaron Nordbye, Cale Roach, Isaac Oakley, and AJ Grunewaldt all had one hit each.
Oakley pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed 10 runs, six earned, on one hit and six walks with 11 strikeouts. Skotvold pitched an inning and allowed four earned runs on three hits and three walks. Grunewaldt threw 2/3 of an inning and walked one batter with two strikeouts.
