Late Basket and Free Throw Gives Garretson Win over Baltic Girls

A made basket with an ‘and-one’ free throw helped the Garretson Blue Dragons to a 37-35 win over the Baltic Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 4th.

Garretson held a one-point lead, 9-8, at the end of the first quarter.  Baltic took the lead in the second quarter and had a seven-point advantage, 21-14, at halftime.  The Bulldogs maintained their lead throughout the third quarter and led 29-24 going into the final quarter.  Garretson regained the lead 30-29 with 3:45 to play in the game.  The teams traded leads over the next couple of minutes.  With the game tied 34-34, Garretson made a field goal with :48 to play.  A foul was committed on the shot, and the Blue Dragons made the free throw to make the score 37-34.  Baltic was only able to get one more free throw in the game.

Harper Kortemeyer finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.  Meredith Larson added five points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.  Kaiya Lenderts also had five points with three rebounds and three steals.  Holland Kortemeyer had four points and eight rebounds.
