The Baltic Bulldog girls made the short trip north to Dell Rapids for a game against the Quarriers on Monday, February 3rd. The Quarriers earned the home win, 65-35.
Dell Rapids got out to a big lead by the end of the first quarter, 22-8. They pushed the lead to over 20 points in the second quarter, but Baltic got the lead down to 39-20 by halftime. After the Bulldogs got within 17 points early in the third quarter, Dell Rapids went on a big run in the third quarter and led 61-35 going into the fourth quarter.
Baltic finished the game shooting 35% (13-37) overall, 1-8 on three-point shots, and 44% (8-18) from the free-throw line. Dell Rapids shot 41% (26-64) overall in the game, 43% (6-14) on three-point attempts, and 54% (7-13) from the free-throw line. The Quarrier defense forced 29 turnovers in the game, 18 of those on steals.
Caitlyn Pickett had 12 points and five rebounds. Harper Kortemeyer ended with a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sadey Holt added four points. Meredith Larson had three points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Kate Bouman also ended with three points with two rebounds.
