Fourth Quarter Surge by Bulldogs Helps in Win over Beresford

The Baltic Bulldogs used a fourth quarter surge to hold off the Beresford Watchdogs to earn a season-opening win on Friday, December 13th.  The Bulldogs turned a one-point fourth-quarter lead into a 45-31 victory.

The game was close for over three quarters of play.  Baltic held a 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Beresford tied the game 10-10 early in the second quarter, but the Bulldogs ended the second quarter leading 18-15.  The lead stayed pretty steady for Baltic throughout the third quarter.  The Bulldogs took a 28-23 lead into the final quarter.  Beresford got within a point, 30-29, but Baltic went on an 11-0 run to make the score 41-29 to put the game out of reach.

Kellen Artz finished with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four blocked shots.  Dylan Runestad had eight points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Ben Erickson also had eight points with three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Trevor Cuperus added eight points and 10 rebounds.  Cooper Garry had six points, three assists, and two rebounds.
