Winning Streak Hits Double Digits for Baltic

The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team extended their winning streak to 10 matches after a win against Centerville on Tuesday, October 22nd.  The Bulldogs defeated the Tornadoes by scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-18.

Centerville started the first set on a 4-0 run.  Baltic countered with a 5-1 run to tie the score 5-5.  They scored the next three points to keep the rally going to an 8-5 lead.  The Tornadoes cut the lead to 11-10 and then tied the score 14-14.  Baltic went on a 7-0 run for a 21-14 advantage before winning 25-16.

Baltic opened the second set with a 3-1 advantage.  Centerville tied the score 3-3 only to see the Bulldogs go on a 6-0 run for a 9-3 lead. Baltic continued to lead by five points, 15-10, but the Tornadoes went on a 4-0 run to make the score 15-14.  The Bulldogs held off the rally.  After leading 20-18, Baltic scored the final five points for the 25-18 win.

The third set started with ties of 4-4 and 7-7.  Baltic took a slim 10-8 lead.  Centerville stayed close and was within a point at 13-12.  The Bulldogs then went on a 7-2 run to extend their lead to 20-14.  That gave them enough of a cushion to stay in front to a 25-18 victory.
