Needing to beat Scotland/Menno two times on Tuesday, July 30th to qualify for state, the Baltic 16U team suffered a 3-0 loss in the Region 3B final.
Scotland/Menno scored two times in the bottom of the first inning, and that was enough for them the rests of the game. They added one more run in the bottom of the fifth. Both pitching staffs were strong in the game. Baltic was held to just three hits, and Scotland/Menno had just five hits.
Braxton Allen pitched all six innings for Baltic and allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Jackson Goehring, Isaac Oakley, and Zachary Helgeson all had one hit each.
