The Baltic 16U baseball team couldn’t keep pace with Volga in an 18-3 loss in Volga on Monday, July 8th.
Volga took a 2-0 lead with a couple of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Baltic cut the lead in half, 2-1, when Joey Grunewaldt hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the second. Volga, however, scored eight runs in the bottom of the inning for a 10-1 lead. They added another in the bottom of the third. Baltic scored two times in the top of the fourth, but Volga had a seven-run bottom of the fourth to end the game on the 15-run rule.
Kellen Artz finished with a single and RBI. Cale Roach, AJ Grunewaldt, and Zachary Helgeson all had one hit each. J. Grunewaldt and Isaac Oakley both added an RBI.
