The Baltic 16U baseball team hosted Garretson in a doubleheader on Wednesday, June 26th. Garretson took the win in both games.
Garretson 15, Baltic 11
Baltic built a 4-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the second inning. Garretson had a big seven-run third inning to take a 7-4 lead. Baltic would tie the game 7-7 with three runs in the bottom of the third. Garretson took the lead for good with five runs in the top of the fourth inning to go ahead 12-7. Baltic scored a run in the bottom of the fourth only to see Garretson get a run in the top of the fifth inning. The score was 13-11 after Baltic scored three times in the bottom of fifth. Garretson added two more runs in the seventh to secure the win.
Cale Roach had two hits and two RBIs. Jackson Goehring and Aaron Nordbye had a single and two RBIs. Gavin Skotvold finished with a single. Ben Erickson had two RBIs. Isaac Oakley and AJ Gruenwaldt both had one RBI. Goehring pitched three innings and allowed seven runs, three earned, on four hits and five walks with five strikeouts. Oakley threw two innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Kellen Artz also pitched two innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on three hits and three walks with one strikeout.
Garretson 10, Baltic 6
Garretson scored in every inning in their four inning win. They scored two runs in the top of the first and two in the second for a 4-0 lead. Baltic cut the lead to 4-3 after three runs in the bottom of the second. Each team would score three times in the third inning, and then Garretson added three more in the fourth.
Goehring and B Berg both had a double and an RBI. Roach added a single with an RBI. Nordbye had a double. Oakley and Artz both finished with a single. Erickson finished with an RBI.
